This is a reminder to contributors to send their haiku during September 2023 for inclusion in our latest Issue of Echidna Tracks.
A note by the editors: the submissions form doesn’t allow for italics or special formatting. If you are submitting a haiku with either of these requirements, please indicate that with your submission. If you have already submitted a haiku with those requirements, please let the editors know when you are notified of acceptance. Please submit your best work. Our priority is to include excellent haiku.
About Echidna Tracks: if accepted, your haiku will be available online, published in individual posts daily and sent to website followers. Your haiku will also be published in a PDF file for each issue, available for free download from our Books area and the Australian National Library.
Each author on the website can access all of their published haiku by clicking on their name in the index area of the website.
Our haiku are also indexed by subject. We hope to make a comprehensive collection of haiku about Australia, our unique land, with its diversity of peoples and cultures.
For Echidna Tracks, Issue 12, Open Theme, we invite your best and previously unpublished haiku and senryu on any topic that stirs your imagination.
The submission period for Echidna Tracks Issue 12: Open Theme will be open during September 2023. Submissions will only be received via the submissions form and when the link is available.
Anybody can submit work that is relevant to Australia – but as this is a website for the collection of Australian haiku, the work we are looking for will come from an authentic experience of either living in or visiting Australia. Unfortunately, we cannot consider your submission when we cannot verify an Australian connection.
